Tourists, locals, and low-key celebrities mix at this casual yet topnotch deli in the heart of the Santa Barbara wine country. The sidewalk café ambience and certain food items hint at a European influence, but overall the fare at Panino is decidedly Californian. The Cobb salad---a Southern California original---is made with creamy Stilton blue cheese from England. The turkey and Brie sandwich comes on wonderfully soft bread, and the lettuce is always fresh from local farms. During the lunch hour, a well-deserved line forms as an eclectic mix of patrons wearing everything from cowboy garb to haute couture waits to order from the chalkboard menu. The quaint patio is an ideal spot from which to take in Los Olivos before going wine tasting. Other locations include Solvang, Santa Barbara, Montecito and Goleta.
