Ocean View Café didn't get its name by accident. Situated apart from the crowds on a quiet residential street, the café's flowery terrace---which is where you want to sit---offers a grand view of the deep blue Pacific Ocean. And since Mother Nature is so accommodating in Southern California, Ocean View owner Patrick Sanderson says he's able to use the terrace ninety percent of the time, and it's the location of choice for weekend brunch. The simple Mediterranean menu features salads (goat cheese), gourmet or vegetarian sandwiches (chicken breast or strained yogurt with olives and cucumbers), and a few savory starters such as hummus, tabbouleh, and herb pizza. We recommend the Mediterranean sampler, which provides small portions of each. To drink, order a fresh fruit smoothie or espresso shake.
