An Avalon institution for three-quarters of a century, Eric's is a simple stand on the pier, with stools and tables lined up within the bounds of a white stripe of paint demarcating its narrow slice of decking. Eric's is perfect for soaking up the ultra-casual island vibe, munching on a burger while scoping out the pedestrians wandering Crescent Avenue and the pier. Mornings mean breakfast burritos, while fish 'n' chips, clam chowder or the signature buffalo burgers---they're not from the island's herd roaming inland, by the way---are the preferred items later in the day. Thankfully, the prices are as nostalgic as the setting.
