Azu Description:
Ojai is a sleepy little town nestled among beautiful mountains. People don't come here seeking exciting nightlife; they come for tranquility and artistic expression. Azu, located on Ojai's main drag, is one of the few spaces that provides an upscale bar scene. There are over 25 wines available by the glass, plus martinis, margaritas and a flaming Lucid absinthe. Azu adds to that interesting bites of food in the form of cold and hot tapas dishes that can be enjoyed at the long, dark wooden bar, or at the smattering of white-linen-clad tables inside and out front on the sidewalk. Nosh on marinated Moroccan olives, dates stuffed with chorizo and wrapped in bacon, baked Brie drizzled with honey and walnuts, lamb kebabs with a cucumber-yogurt sauce, and Spanish anchovies on crostini. There are larger plates for those who really want to tuck into dinner. A tagine is filled with roasted chicken, preserved lemons and fruited couscous. Wild Alaskan salmon is roasted and served with butternut squash. Filet mignon is dressed in a Cabernet reduction. For dessert don't miss the gelato and sorbet made on site.
