Tony's Jacal Description:
"Jacal" mean's little house (or shack) in Spanish, but this restaurant is anything but. This large, authentic Mexican Restaurant has been family owned since the 1940's and is a favorite among locals and those associated with the Del Mar Horse Races. It is well-known for it's turkey tacos, chile rellenos, and of course it's margaritas! The restaurant also boasts an outdoor patio, full bar, candy counter, and bird aviary.
The Eden Gardens neighborhood of Solana Beach is the launching point for many Mexican eateries that gradually grew from tiny cafés into successful restaurants. Among them is Tony's Jacal (Tony's Little Hut), a spacious place that serves a mean chile relleno. Also worth ordering are the chicken enchiladas in green sauce, the carnitas tacos and the chili Colorado. All taste better, por supuesto, accompanied by a strong margarita.
