Cottage Restaurant Description:
A Laguna landmark for 35 years. The Cottage is a casual restaurant near downtown Laguna. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the year. There is a large patio with outdoor seating which can fill up quickly during nice weather.
It's a bit like visiting your grandmother's old California bungalow, which might explain why The Cottage has long been one of Laguna's most popular spots for breakfast. There are numerous egg dishes, pancakes, french toast and, our favorite, corned beef hash with a poached egg. Even when it' s not a weekend, this place serves a number of items that you only normally see come Sunday brunch---for example, smoked salmon Benedict. The lunch menu favors healthy fare, much of which is vegetarian, but dinner can produce some excellent seafood and meat dishes. We recommend the center-cut pork chop and the Coronado Towers, char-grilled beef filet and scampi sided with garlic mashed potatoes.
