Garlic lovers must try the Escargot Bourguignon Farcis, snails swimming in thick garlic purée. The namesake appetizer, Charcuterie Plate, is brimming with favorites like duck rillette, pork pepper pâté, two different kinds of salami, a creamy local cheese, and olives and cornichons. Those looking for healthier fare will be charmed with the Sebastapol salad with apples, walnuts, Gorgonzola and raisins. If not already full from starters, try a French entrée with a California twist such as duck legs confit with green peppercorn cream sauce, or baked red trout with a crust of tahini, pine nuts and garlic. On a weekly basis, a local winery is showcased and it is not unlikely to find the winemakers themselves hanging around the bar.
