Rose Garden Tea Room Description:
The Huntington Library and Gardens serves tea each afternoon in the Rose Garden Room.
A fixed price includes tea (your choice of the two teas of the day) or lemonade, and as many trips to the buffet as you'd like. The buffet includes finger sandwiches (lox, cucumber, watercress, tuna, tomato, etc.), several types of cheese with crackers, fresh fruit with cream, chocolate cups with lemon pudding and meringue, tiny tarts with fresh fruit over a creamy layer, and more.
You need to pay admission to the Huntington to get to the restaurant, and you are encouraged to wander the grounds before and after your meal.
Located adjacent to the three-acre rose garden in the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens, this is an idyllic place where the achievements of man and Mother Nature coexist in splendor. For $24.95 per person for adults (on top of admission to the grounds), enjoy a buffet-style tea with scones, traditional finger sandwiches (e.g. watercress, smoked salmon and cucumber), assorted salads, fruit and pastries. It will fortify you before or after a stroll through the Huntington's gardens. The tea room can get rather congested on busy weekends, but it remains an essential part of the Huntington experience. The grounds close at 4:30 p.m. and the last tea seating is 3:30 p.m.
