Johnnie's Pastrami Description:
It's not just the 1952 Googie design (including original jukeboxes) that makes Johnnie's an LA classic; it's also those mid-century cholesterol-laden treats that we aren't supposed to eat anymore but love anyway. The namesake pastrami (which can't be ordered lean...as if!) is best experienced on a French dipped roll. You can also go for standards like burgers or ham and cheese sandwiches, snack on generous servings of kosher pickles, and indulge in a root beer float or beer by the pitcher. For dessert: pie---what the heck, order it à la mode! Outdoor seating features a fire pit on one side of the restaurant.
