Oak Grill Description:
The Oak Grill's outdoor setting affords good views of the golf course and well-manicured grounds. You'll likely be surrounded by parents visiting their kids enrolled at one of the five area boarding schools, as this café is a bit too rich for the local blood. At breakfast, there's a choice of the buffet or prepared entrées like huevos rancheros or a cowboy omelet. Lunch offers tortilla soup, plus salads made with locally grown lettuce, herbs and olive oil. One main course salad features curried chicken, hearts of palm and crispy chickpeas. Also, there's a burger, grilled steak sandwich and club sandwich. At dinner, the fire-roasted artichoke appetizer is a wine country favorite. Mains include a lobster potpie, fresh fish of the day and grilled steaks with seasonal vegetables. If it's summertime, end with strawberry shortcake made with ripe berries from Oxnard. In winter, try the orange panna cotta made with Ojai citrus. Despite the casual setting, the wine list is impressively long. Cocktails are also available.
