La Fondue Description:
Couples are happy to cozy up to a cauldron of satisfying fare at La Fondue. Yes, the requisite fondue of Swiss and Emmental cheeses melted with wine and a hint of nutmeg tops the menu, but you can also try the Cajun fondue with cheddar, beer, shrimp and spices, or the blue tomato fondue with its hint of blue cheese and slivers of sun-dried tomatoes. Meat courses get even more interesting with buffalo, wild boar filet, ostrich, venison and duck---though less adventurous eaters can stick to shrimp, chicken and beef. Combination menus include a crisp salad and an entrée course where diners choose a meat and vegetable medley and a cooking method, like a table grill or a bubbling bouillon. Thankfully, helpful servers are on hand to guide the way. Dinner would not be complete without the chocolate fondue---some cunning regulars know to stop in after 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday for the separate chocolate fondue seating, which allows dessert lovers to indulge without making the full-scale commitment to a complete fondue meal.
