Hal's Bar & Grill Description:
Hal's is a friendly neighborhood hangout that truly reflects the current Venice scene, where bohemian and cosmopolitan themes beautifully coexist. A great selection of contemporary creations by local artists grace the walls, the 40-foot bar caters to a diverse crowd, and the stylish but laid-back dining room is a fine backdrop to fare that features both the classical and the avant-garde. The regularly changing menu includes such imaginative starters as crispy squash blossoms with goat cheese and truffle honey drizzle, and Alaskan halibut and Dungeness crab cake with a saffron piquillo pepper aïoli. For entrées, we recommend the grilled New York steak with sweet onion rings, the grilled chicken with ruby red grapefruit relish, barbecued salmon with mango-hoisin sauce, or Hal's signature hamburger, served with extra-crispy fries. On weekends, a basket of biscuits and muffins is served with the leisurely brunch.
