Don Pico's Restaurant Description:
San Bruno residents pack this large, noisy Mexican bistro serving family-style classic fare and live entertainment. The menu is enormous---there are 14 seafood dishes alone---but attempts to veer from the basics aren't always successful. Skip the dressed-up dishes like walnut-crusted sea bass and go instead for the carnitas Yucatan---shredded pork marinated in citrus and slow-braised. Traditional "combination platters" are also good. Ingredients are locally grown and organic, including Niman Ranch meats, which elevates Don Pico's above most typical taquerias.
