The Cracked Crab Description:
Seasonal menu with fresh fish, local and line caught when available. The specialty is the "Big Bucket," which offers a choice of shellfish and side dishes, is dumped onto the table and served with tools for cracking and picking.
Evoking an authentic seaside crab boil, the Cracked Crab's signature dish is actually a bucket---a big ol' pot of delights dumped out onto the table where you can have at it with the appropriate tools while wearing a big white plastic bib. The bucket price starts at around $70, but it's packed with about three pounds of shellfish, making it big enough to be shared between three or even four people. Choose three shellfish items to go with spicy Cajun sausage, red potatoes, pieces of corn-on-the-cob and sourdough rolls. Shellfish choices depend on season and availability, but expect options such as Dungeness and local rock crab, clams and mussels, lobster tails and Gulf shrimp, and even Alaskan king and bairdi crab (yes, think "Deadliest Catch"). If you don't want to shell out for the bucket, opt for the crunchy San Felipe-style Alaskan halibut fish tacos, the jumbo lump blue-crab cakes, or the hearty crab bisque. Owner Mike Lee prides himself on serving only the freshest and best sustainable fish available, so the menu is updated daily.
