Bootleggers Old Town Tavern & Grill Description:
Authentic "old towne" local hangout built in 1870. The original City Hall with hardwood floors, picture windows, exposed wood beams, and fireplaces in both restaurant and bar. Extensive fish and meat menu with eclectic starters menu. Smoking is permitted outside under heat lamps. Clam chowder only on Fridays; prime rib only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; daily specials. 15% gratuity added on parties of six or more.
Bootleggers is a good place to take a load off after a day of sightseeing. Located in a nineteenth-century building that was once Auburn's original city hall, Bootleggers not only provides a hearty meal but also a bit of history. The menu offers an eclectic mix of down-home American and a variety of international food, so it truly has something for everyone. Starters include everything from escargots to Asian-braised short ribs, while mains include Yankee pot roast, Korean-style skirt steak and Thai curried fish stew. Choose from more than 60 beers to accompany the hearty cuisine, which features local produce and vegetarian options.
