Darren's Description:
Chef Darren Weiss, formerly owner of Café Catalina in Redondo Beach, opened his own eponymous restaurant in the former home of Avenue in Manhattan Beach. Weiss infuses his American fare with Mediterranean and Asian influences. Dishes may include Thai peanut-crusted salmon with a lemon grass-saké beurre blanc, baked Gigha Island halibut and Mexican white shrimps, braised short rib "volcano," and, on the sweeter side, apple crumble with Thai cinnamon-infused crème anglaise and vanilla bean gelato.
