Situated in a Studio City strip mall, this Mediterranean restaurant specializes in the cuisine of Armenia and Lebanon. Originally from Beirut, Araz's chef-owner cooks assertive food using plenty of herbs, both fresh and dried. In addition to solid renditions of chicken and beef kebabs, expect more interesting dishes like juicy marinated quail, the grilled Armenian sausages known as soujouk, and the hearty orbs of cracked wheat, minced beef and spices known as maklieh kofta. There are even compelling vegetarian dishes, highlighted by a fried mixture of spinach and eggs, and foul moudammas---fava beans seasoned with garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and spices.
