Afloat Sushi Description:
If you don't mind a gimmick along with your uni and hamachi, you might actually be amused with the voyage your sushi takes from the cutting board to your mouth at this rather unique---and often packed---sushi bar. The sushi chefs load plates of sushi aboard miniature boats---hand-carved and quite nicely detailed---which are propelled around an elliptical river encircling the chefs' station. Patrons simply unload what looks good to them and are charged based on the number of empty plates at the end of the meal (plates are price-coded according to color and design). It's a pleasant novelty, the repertoire is fairly extensive, unclaimed dishes are thankfully removed periodically, and prices are surprisingly low. Although we wish the quality was higher, it's nice not having to wait for one's food.
