Why not take some time off and linger in The Lobby Lounge of The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa Pasadena, enjoying a beautiful view of the San Gabriel Valley at its afternoon tea? A delicate selection of teas (Afternoon Darjeeling, Lapsan Souchang, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, China Rose Petal and Scottish Breakfast) and tisanes (chamomile, peppermint and various fruits) are prepared as elegant beverages. The Traditional Tea ($39) is accompanied by elegant tea sandwiches (e.g. smoked salmon profiteroles with caramelized shallot-caper cream and dill, Caribbean shrimp with watercress pesto on herb bread, cucumber with citrus-mint cream on sourdough), freshly baked scones with Devonshire cream, fruit tartlettes and an extensive selection of petits fours. The opulent Royal Tea ($59) begins with a Champagne cocktail and pulls out all the stops. Naturally, classical piano or harp music is part of the scene in this opulent space filled with antiques and fresh flowers. And on Sunday, a decadent Chocolate Afternoon Tea ($59) is offered, featuring mousse torts, crème brûlées, a chocolate fountain, chocolate sculptures, chocolate beverages, Champagne and fine teas.
