The Slaw Dogs Description:
This space used to sell the best Philly cheesesteaks in Pasadena, but is now being put to exceptionally good use with The Slaw Dogs. Vienna Beef is the default frank, while specialty sausages include bratwurst and chicken-apple. There's a wide range of toppings offered---everything from chipotle mayo to curry ketchup to a fried egg---and a number of signature pre-composed dogs alleviate any agonizing decisions. A Thai dog is topped with an Asian slaw but could use a bit more peanut sauce. An undeniable hit is the Reuben dog, a spicy Polish served butterflied on grilled rye bread with sauerkraut and Russian dressing. For healthy eaters, there is the Soy Bomb---a veggie dog with cubes of tofu and ginger-ponzu slaw, sprinkled with sesame seeds. If all this sounds a bit too precious, rest assured they serve a very satisfying beer chili-cheese dog, too. The Philly cheesesteaks are gone, but the Crown City has hardly gone to the dogs.
