District Lounge Description:
The District Lounge is Old Towne Orange's only truly hip bar, but this eclectic space is also known for its food. Inside, you'll find the red leather walls, black leather oval booths and quasi Spanish lighting work well as this place oozes an LA-like hipster vibe. The venue got rid of its camp-style barbecue menu and now opts for the trendy build-your-own-burger fare. Luckily for regulars, a few appetizer items remain like the buttermilk battered and fried chicken chunks with tater tots and the spicy, upscale nachos. Several entrée salads also make the list. The build-your-own burger menu isn't vast, but it's definitely worth the trip. The Angus beef patty is flavorful, plus you can select from three buns, seven cheeses, 20 toppings and 11 sauces, including the more unusual like wasabi mayo, ginger teriyaki and honey mustard. Nearby Chapman University students hang out late on Thursday (as well as Friday and Saturday) evenings for funky cool music and dancing.
