Casa de Pico Description:
Full service Mexican Restaurant, with fun bar(TV's) and two outdoor patios. Situated in front of Grossmont Center Mall, so ample parking.
For decades, Casa De Pico had some of the best Mexican food in Old Town's Bazaar del Mundo. The move to La Mesa was tough on hard-core city fans, but most have been willing to make the trek. In addition, East County residents have gained some truly authentic, first-rate Mexican fare. Of particular note is the carnitas that we like to wrap in griddle-fresh tortillas. We also suggest the char-broiled chili poblanos stuffed with moist chicken and smothered in melted cheese. The patio, with its fountains, rainbow-colored umbrellas and strolling mariachis, calls for "birdbath" margaritas and leisurely afternoons focused on eating and communing. The interior is another whirlwind of color and folk art with wrought iron chandeliers hanging above.
