We took a friend a month ago, and where apologizing afterwards that the burgers just weren't as good as normal. I went again yesterday and found the same thing, realizing that the patty itself is now different - dry, like carboard, no flavour. I have been a HUGE fan, living here all my life. What a shame to change something so great. BAD mistake.

First visit today. I've heard about this place since moving to Calgary, but I have to say the food was horrible! the burger pattys were flat (about Mcdonalds thiness) , and rubbery and tasted like the cheap, no-flavour noname burgers. there was so much ketchup on the burger it leaked all over the package and all over the outside of the burger. The bun was stale tasting and dry. the burger itself had no flavour. it was very plain. I was very disapointed. I had heard this was the best burger place in the city. I did hear something in the news about it being sold. Perhaps the new owners changed a few things. Even the milkshakes don't taste "real", they taste "fake sweet" like Mcdonalds. I have had better ones at family restaurants, or dairy queen. While the portion sizes on the french fries were large, there was nothing special about them and were very simular to Take out from Wendy's. There was a wait to order through the drive thru, and it was hard to understand the employee as he did not speak very clear english. It cost us $45 for a lunch that gave 3 out of 4 a stomache ache.. and was worse then McDonalds.

If you're looking for e-coli or salmonella Peter's is the place to go! I got a "raw" beef burger!
I was upset and surprised because everyone raves about this place. I'm angry because with the recents deaths due to listeria i thought resturants would be taking food preparation and handling very seriously! I have made a complaint to the Health Authority.

I have been going to Peters' for at least 35 years..The service now is terrible, on both occasions, waited at least 45 minutes at drive thru, I thought maybe the first time was just a bad day for them. When we got to the window, they asked what we had ordered and even then had to repeat the order 3 times. The food is good, but we aren't going to wait that long again. Now I know why they don't have an exit from the drive thru because everyone would get sick of waiting and leave. It's too bad because, this used to be a great place, nobody I know ever had a bad thing to say about Peters' until now. I guess that happens to a lot of food places when they sell to unexperienced purchasers

Many, many great flavours of milkshakes! HUGE portions of food. Don't order a large fries unless you've been starved for a few months...

While change is normally a good thing...it's not when you are dealing with a legend. Went to Peter's for the first time in awhile about 1 month ago...I knew they had changed ownership -- but wasn't expecting a "taste" difference...everything was the same...BUT THE BURGER PATTY...it tastes like a cheap frozen patty. I actually went as far as to phone the place and talk to a manager - I explained that I noticed the change - and didn't think it was for the better - she told me they are now using "HIGHER GRADE" beef...Not an excuse in my book!!! They should save the money, keep buying the "LOWER GRADE" beef and keep their customers happy. DON'T MESS WITH A GOOD THING...this won't end well for the new owners if they ignore their loyal fanbase.

I have gone to Peters Drive in for years, haven't been in awhile, we went last weekend and the burgers are way different a rubber texture, go back to the better grade burger, it wasn't enjoyable!

Just a comment on the last review... I understand Peter sold the business a couple of years' back, but the new owners have kept everything the exact same. I am a HUGE fan of this place, but sadly, I cannot eat too much of it as I get older... same old story, fats, cholesterol, etc... but if you can afford it health wise, I recommend a daily dose!

Used to come here when I lived in Calgary over 30 years ago, and I recently visited again on my last visit and the food is still just as good as it was then. I can hardly wait for the next time I'm in town. I've heard that Peter's has been approached on a number of occasions to set up a franchise, but the answer was always no. Peter wanted to keep it just the way it was.

I would recommend Peters' Drive-In to anyone who visits Calgary. There is no doubt in my mind that your visit will turn out to be the best part of your trip! The milkshakes are usually the best part, and the hamburgers are great for right after sports.
