India House can't match the refined kitchens of Boston, but it does plate pleasing comfort food. These piping hot fried turnovers are stuffed with savory potato and peas. Indian food is truly a cuisine best shared. From fragrant rogan josh, rich with paprika and clarified butter, to decadent saag paneer, brimming with firm cubes of cheese in spicy, creamed spinach, no two tastes are the same. Boti kabab masala comes recommended and doesn't disappoint. Its bewitching, squash-like sauce softens the gaminess of tandoori lamb. Bored with flatbreads? Trade naan for whole-wheat poori. Coupling curries with freshly baked breads completes the experience, and this airy dough is a sensation. Also worth tasting is India's flagship Sauvignon Blanc, Sula. Available by the glass, the dry, floral white defuses fiery dishes. Service deteriorates once the crowd comes, so make early reservations, or plan to stay late.
