Bloom Description:
Ask for a table near one of the large windows looking out onto an avenue of chic boutiques in this shopping center village. The best appetizers are crispy calamari served with mizuna, yuzu vinaigrette and toasted sesame seeds; warm Brie with roasted garlic and sweet peppers; and grilled artichokes with mustard aïoli. Try the old-fashioned Cobb salad overflowing with fire-roasted chicken, smoked bacon, avocado, hard-boiled egg, Roquefort and poppyseed dressing. But the most satisfying dish is an old-fashioned, oven-roasted meatloaf, served with whipped potatoes and country green beans. The wine list has many selections under $35. One of the specialties here is tasting flights including anything from Chardonnays from California's Carneros region or Merlots from the Alexander Valley. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly but not obtrusive.

Review :
My husband and I received a gift certificate to Bloom for Christmas, so last night we decided to go for a nice dinner.
We arrived and were seated at 6:50. We ordered the asparagus bruschetta. The dish was underwhelming. The bread was soggy, but cripsy on the crust. It was okay to say the least.
I get my entree: pork tenderloin with celery root risotto. My husband ordered the steak. I asked for mine medium well and my husband's was supposed to be medium rare.
My dish's celery root risotto was basically celery root au gratin. My pork was burned on the outside to get the inside correct. This made the entire skin of the pork inedible.
My husband's medium rare steak was medium well.
Half-way through the dinner the manager came over to ask about the appetizers. We told him the truth and then he left.
After dinner, the waiter asked if the restaurant could buy us a dessert. My husband and I declined the dessert and asked for a cup of coffee instead.
Our meal was underwhelming, over-priced and poorly served.
