Review :
Dined in a group of 4 on January 24, 2009. All different menu choices - not one of us was satisfied with the food. Schnitzel described as pan fried (paniert) had been deep fried, was unusually thick when it should have been malletted/tenderized and thin. Spatzle was yesterday's and had been reheated or zapped in a microwave - it certainly lacked the promised freshly homemade taste. The Salzburg pfandl, supposedly served in the frying pan in which the meats had been prepared was disgraceful - the pork cutlets were thick and tough; the beef was a very poor cut and sinewy (impossible to chew even after spending an inordinate amount of time cutting away the gristle). I think the Old Salzburg has lost its edge because of a poor chef cutting corners in preparation. The prices suggest 1st class, but the product is certainly low 2nd or 3rd class.
