The Rattlesnake Bar & Grill Description:
Four parts boozy hangout to one part eatery, this Back Bay old-timer lures frat boys and sorority gals of all ages with a party vibe that wafts down from its rooftop deck (a/k/a "The Urban Canyon"). Food here has always been secondary to the cocktails, but a menu update thanks to chef Brian Poe has injected the dining room with life---look for sassy items like smoky bacon-wrapped game hen, to-die-for nachos and Hudson Valley duck tacos.

This place is no longer all pub, no eat. Having visited it this past week I would echo the sentiments of another who described it as a gastropub;
The patrons are more young professional than fratboy. With two distinctively different seating areas its becomes one locale offering two different experiences but the same great food!
I would describe our visit like so:
Addictively engaging milieu. Quality of food is excellent. It has a modern and vibrant atmosphere thanks to the younger professionals that frequent the establishment. This translated into an exceptional service staff that was tolerant and more so engaging with the lively group we were.
We were repeat visitors on our recent trip to Boston, which was our first ever. Menu is affordable and diverse - nice sandwiches but also high quality entrees; first floor is warm and modern.
Check out the 'urban canyon' atmosphere of the rooftop patio. On a modest evening like the one we had it is like a cozy cave with stars for a ceiling.

Something has happened to the food at the Rattlesnake- I was there last Saturday night and the food was spectacular. Not just on the roofdeck- at the main dining room!
Definitely worthy of a visit. Check it out
