Radius Description:
One of the city's best-known restaurants, Radius offers a contemporary French menu.
Valet parking is available after 5:30p.m. The closest subway stop is South Station on the MBTA Red Line.
At still-sexy, still-sleek Radius, seasoned chef-owner Michael Schlow continues to nurture the talents of his underlings. The circular dining room seems warmer now than it did in its slate-gray early days, perhaps thanks to the fetching presence of general manager Esti Parsons. By contrast, service has always been a bit impersonal, but the professionalism is undeniable. The globally aware French menu is full of verve, as dishes like rabbit-bacon roulade with, shockingly enough, mint fondue and hoisin; seared halibut with fried oysters, capers and cornichons, not to mention smoked paprika; and a pine nut tart with wild mushroom ice cream and rosemary syrup cover all the flavor bases. That said, other kitchens have now caught up to Radius creativity-wise; it's the bar scene that still feels special, its luxe cocktails and snacks like asparagus tempura with curried salt and notable burger keeping it at the top of our list of after-work hot-spots.
