Pigalle Description:
A Parisian dining spot. A limited, less-expensive menu is available at the bar.
Validated parking is available at the adjacent Radisson Hotel on Stuart Street.
Pigalle is a truly adult pleasure. Its sensual nuances are in the décor of deep chestnuts and chocolates, banquettes and rugs, sconces and gentle curves. They're in the consummate approach to customer service embraced by Kerri Foley and her staff. And they're certainly in the French cuisine of Foley's co-owner and husband, chef Marc Orfaly. With a technical polish that allows him to silver-line Gallic classics with equal parts rustic vigor and urban sass, Orfaly turns out rich yet earthy steak tartare and cassoulet (in season). Less traditional dishes still show haute oomph---think roast-yam tortelloni gussied up with crispy duck confit and a drizzle of brown butter. And he adds Asian touches with panache, as in a cream of turnip soup with curried lentil foam and wasabi-chive oil or the addictive signature tuna-phyllo rolls. Meanwhile, the wine list astutely spans the regions of France while giving the nod to smaller new-world producers, and a crack bartender produces first-rate cocktails.
