Boston Beer Garden Description:
Kick-starting the gentrification of rough-and-tumble Southie, this handsome bar is a magnet for the local condo set. Exposed brick walls and flattering spot-lighting is the backdrop for a raucous nightly singles' scene. Yet for as loud as things can get, the Beer Garden is a very relaxed place. Bar basics circa 1990 such as quesadillas, nachos and skins are the word from the kitchen---though it makes the occasional post-millennium statement regarding low carbs and global influences too (think lettuce wraps, Cubanos and tiramisu). Still, booze, not chow, is reason number one to frolic in this garden.
