Hand-carved antique benches, emotive royal blue walls, and gilded artifacts make this Back Bay Thai eatery feel like a Buddhist temple. Much of the food is prepared palace-style, with intricate garnishes and studied presentations. The waitstaff is formal in attire, approachable in attitude, and crackerjack at communication. All the usual suspects line up on the menu to please pad-o-philes. We prefer delicately composed specialties like tod mun (ground fish blended with curry, eggs and kaffir lime, and then fried); shrimp wrapped in chicken, pork and glass noodles; and the exceptional whole striped bass dishes.
