La Voile Description:
Located in the lower level of the Newbury Guest House, La Voile is a brasserie with a menu focused on the south of France.
Charmante. Authentique. Délicieux. That this French bistro could possibly have made its way from its former home of Cannes to the Back Bay---to the hub of overpriced pretension that is Newbury Street, no less---is hard for local foodies to grasp. But they're trying---returning to the classically handsome yet simple place again and again to experience Provençal cuisine that's absolutely---no better phrase for it---comme il faut. Among the biggest smashes: sweetbreads in a cream sauce with morels; veal blanquette; and whole fish dishes---all striking the balance between richness and delicacy that defines French cuisine at its most marvelous. Add to the morsels seasoned service and relatively reasonable prices and you've got an instant classic.
