Who's got the juice? Old Chinatown hands and seekers of exotica know that the answer is simple but hard to find: Juice Bar in the Chinatown eatery on Beach Street. To the eye, it is nothing but a counter manned by a semi-grumpy cashier, several blenders, and enough colored paper signs to make it resemble a third grade classroom. But Juice Bar is a small wonder of sorts, turning out the type of blended juices, shakes, teas and other liquid treats that are common (and memorable) finds on the streets of Singapore, Bangkok and Hanoi. Red bean, avocado and ice cream shakes, watermelon and honeydew juice, milk tea with almond---these are just some of the options, often laden with extras like tapioca pearls.
