Located away from the buzz of downtown, Cottonwood Grille mixes fine dining with a distinct mountain lodge ambience under the guiding hand of chef-owner Peter Blatz. Open seating surrounds a crackling wood fireplace with a nearby banquet room for private parties. Contemporary American cuisine with seasonal Northwest specialties shines on a menu featuring all-natural antibiotic-free chicken, house-made sausages, fresh exotic fish, and locally raised lamb and pork. Appetizers present the usual fare, but dinner will tantalize taste buds. Choose tender braised lamb shank christened with a red wine sauce with sweet onions, Idaho potatoes, carrots and celery. Or indulge your inner carnivore with aged Prime sirloin dusted with cracked peppercorns paired with a creamy peppercorn sauce. Fish lovers will enjoy the British Columbia fresh farm-raised salmon filet wrapped in crispy Idaho potato drizzle with a lemon beurre blanc. More impressive than the entrées is the side of sweet potatoes blended with cinnamon and "other" spices the chef will not disclose---a startling culinary delight. Try the German chocolate cake or crème brûlée for a sweet finale.
