Klingler's European Bakery & Cafe Description:
Whoever said "eat dessert first" might have had a place like Klingler's in mind. This bakery and café first became known for the most sumptuous cheesecakes, but now has a multi-faceted menu. Breakfast could be sweet or savory with offerings such as banana custard french toast or a sandwich of Black Forest ham, eggs and cheese on homemade sourdough bread. The farmer's breakfast (served Sat. and Sun. only) is a hearty plate of eggs topped with German smoked sausage, onions, tomatoes, peppers, pan-fried potatoes and two kinds of cheese. For lunch, a bratwurst or knockwurst comes with German potato salad and freshly baked bread. We also suggest the salad sampler with chicken salad. Dinners-to-go star comfort foods with a German offering on Wednesdays. The Black Forest cake is signature, but we think any of the chocolate and peanut butter pastries will make you forget all about that candy in the orange package.
