Chef-owner Lachu Moorjani continues to offer an Indian dining experience a cut above most others, with attentive service and a selection of regional Indian specialties. Even the look is sophisticated: Buddhist cave paintings cover the ceiling and murals of Indian life warm the walls. The full dinner is a bargain, as it includes pappadum, appetizers like tandoori chicken wings, a choice of three entrées, basmati rice, tandoori bread, a vegetable, a trio of pickles and chutneys and a sweet ending-all for under $15. The badal jaam (pan-fried slices of eggplant topped with a fragrant tomato sauce and served with garlic-laced yogurt) is outstanding.
