Waterfront Hotel Description:
No, the Waterfront Hotel isn't really a hotel anymore, but there are a number of reasons why it's a good idea to dine---if not sleep---there. One of the oldest buildings in Baltimore, the Waterfront has played many roles in its 200-plus years: sailors' home-away-from-home, Civil War soldiers' housing, and, of course, its TV role as the detectives' hangout in "Homicide: Life on the Street." It's now a multi-faceted restaurant, encompassing a boisterous bar, a genteel dining room with fireplace and harbor views, and a hang-loose lounge. Whichever venue you choose, you'll find food to match, from burgers and wings to bourbon-barbecued Kentucky meatloaf to a trio of filet mignons, in black and bleu, Chesapeake, and au poivre stylings. Brunch is bountiful, and the location perfect for after-meal strolling. Come in after 9 any night, and you're sure to hear a live show.
