One of the oldest buildings in Baltimore, the Waterfront has played many roles in its 200-plus years: sailors' home-away-from-home, Civil War soldiers' housing, and, of course, its TV role as the detectives' hangout in "Homicide: Life on the Street." It's now a multi-faceted restaurant, encompassing a boisterous bar, a genteel dining room with fireplace and harbor views, and a hang-loose lounge. Whichever venue you choose, you'll find food to match, from burgers and wings to bourbon-barbecued Kentucky meatloaf to a trio of filet mignons, in black and bleu, Chesapeake, and au poivre stylings.
