Austin has Houston's Pappas brothers to thank for Pappadeaux, a fun-loving, Cajun-Creole seafood concept restaurant that combines feisty flavors and Texas-size portions for a bustling family-friendly New Orleans experience. Steaming platters of spicy, seasonal crawfish, rich shrimp etouffée, and deep vessels of gumbo filled with fresh fish, shellfish, rice and spices don't disappoint. Oyster lovers will relish the fresh half-shell specials and other decadent dishes, especially the Oyster Pappadeaux, baked with spinach, crab meat and creamy hollandaise. For lunch, po' boys piled with fried shrimp, catfish or oysters hit the spot when we're feeling ravenous. Grilled plates also go fancy with rich cedar plank salmon filet and chargrilled shrimp brochettes with dirty rice.
