Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar Description:
It's vociferous and spunky at Fleming's, but you wouldn't want it any other way. As the sun sets, the handsome dark interior with red cherry wood walls fills with business parties, well-heeled couples and celebratory groups for solid steak and seafood dinners. The wine list features more than 100 by-the-glass choices, including some fine Texas wines, and servers readily dole out samples to those with mercurial palates. Appetizers impress, from Cajun barbecue shrimp heavy on the garlic and spices, to an artisan cheese plate glistening with accompanying fresh fruit and chutney. USDA Prime wet-aged steaks including New York strip, filet mignon and bone-in rib-eye are moderately priced and cooked to specs, just as you'd expect from this branch of the upscale chain. Salmon swathed in Cabernet butter and seared scallops with lobster cream sauce rival other protein dishes. Accompaniments are accordingly decadent: we can't resist the skinny shoestring fries or the indulgent chipotle cheddar macaroni and cheese. Sly diners take advantage of the Sunday prime rib special which comes with a choice of side, salad and dessert (special accolades go to the baked peach cobbler).
