Broadway Café Description:
Strictly kosher restaurants are unusual in Atlanta, but this one meets the specifications required by strictly observant Jewish patrons, as all the cooking is done under the supervision of the Atlanta Kashruth Commission. We recommend the eggplant napoleon, a rich layering of eggplant, tomato and cheese in a portion large enough for at least two people, especially if it follows one of the impressive soups. Spinach-stuffed cannelloni nestle under a bubbling bath of tomato sauce and cheese. Mushroom fritters turn out to be battered whole fresh caps, to be dipped into a creamy ranch-style sauce. Made fresh to order, they're fair but not exciting. Pizzas, available using whole-wheat dough, are popular. All of the desserts are made in-house. Kosher beer (Red Hook) and wine are available. This space is a lot brighter and more pleasing to the eye than the restaurant's former location, and the tableware has also seen an upgrade. The restaurant closes at 3 p.m. on Fridays for Sabbath, and is closed on all Jewish holidays.
