Flying Biscuit Cafe Description:
Longtime Atlanta restaurateur John Slocum is the franchisee at this location. It took no time for the place to pack to the rafters with hungry patrons, most of them denizens of adjacent offices, but weekenders pour out of the nearby high-income residences. Expect a wait for breakfast on the weekends. At this location, the eggs come properly cooked and when you ask for your breakfast steak rare, it by heaven comes that way. The creamy grits are a fine adjunct to the eggs done over-easy. For dessert, get anything, as all are made in-house, but the peanut butter torte is a standout. Lunch and dinner follow the pattern set long ago at Candler Park's Flying Biscuit, with great attention paid to vegetarian and healthy dishes. Turkey meatloaf, black bean cakes and all the regulars are replicated.
