Bistro Ole Description:
Bistro Olé offers a bright and lively taste of all things Latin with unique Spanish-Portuguese-South American fusion fare (chef Wil Vivas has departed the restaurant). It's a happenin' little place with an alluring array of dishes such as picadillo, a fusion creation of whole sweet plantain stuffed with ground beef seasoned with Spanish spices; and vaca à la parrilla, a marinated 16-ounce T-bone steak served with grilled shrimp napped with a heady garlic sauce. All entrées are served with julienne vegetables and a choice of Spanish rice, fried potatoes or garlic-mashed potatoes. There's no bad choice, but the fried potatoes, crispy and hot, are not to be missed. Note: The tapas are anything but the small dishes that the word implies. Like many menu offerings here, they can be too heavy, too generous (if one can complain about getting too much of a good thing), and sometimes, too expensive. To the kitchen's credit, the seafood is very fresh, and the ingredients of high quality. The inspired décor is rich with the depictions of bull fights, Hispanic life, pottery and artifacts.
